More on Moore

Red Piano, Camp Artek by Andrew Moore

I was so taken by Andrew Moore’s photos of Detroit, but I didn’t realize until now that he’s the same Andrew Moore who is responsible for one of my favorite books of photography, Russia: Beyond Utopia. When I worked at Booksoup Bookstore here in LA, I used to drool over this one. The images are so exotic and so beautifully dilapidated. He photographed everything from the cigarette sellers on Chekhov Street in Yalta to cluttered repair shops in St. Petersburg.  And the beautiful dilapidation continues in Moore’s new volume Detroit Disassembled, due out later this month (April 20th, to be exact).
